We enjoy playing videos in YouTube. But unfortunately YouTube doesn’t provide a facility to download videos from it. Plenty of websites out there make a way to download videos from YouTube. But it is tedious and may not work properly.
You may be wondering to know your favorite browser Firefox can also do this job for you. You will all need to place an add-on to the Firefox. By implementing this method you can download videos from YouTube by a single click, just as clicking a download link beneath the videos.
Open Firefox and go to this link to place add-on called Fast Video Download to it. You can see an Install button on the coming webpage, click on it. A new window will appear asking you to install add-on. Click on Install Now button. Installing add-on will be started. It will only take few seconds for it. Restart Firefox after finishing installation.
Then you can see Download Video button at right bottom corner of browser. Just click on it for downloading videos you are playing. A new window will pop up asking you to where in your computer videos be downloaded.
The videos will be downloaded in flv format. You will need to download and install freeware like Flv Player or VLC Media Player for playing them.
Make use of this way to download videos from Metacafe, iFilm, Dailymotion and most of embedded videos on any other pages.

Nice Trick! But I prefer KISSING YouTube.
Thank You Anonymous!
Nice tip. I have a better way though. I watch the video play in my browser and then drag and drop it from my /temp folder onto my desktop (or whatever folder I choose)
Oh yeah, I use Linux though. Windows might do the same but good luck finding it.
Thank You Anonymous! This add-on may do the same. But it reduces the tedious work of finding out video files from hundreds of Temporary Internet Files. Windows also do the same!
Riyas,
You have some good tips so far for windows users. You hit the nail right on the head when you mentioned "hundreds of Temporary Internet Files".
Linux simply does not have this issue. Once I close my browser window that I was watching the video in, the temp file is removed by the system.
As I am sure you are aware, windows does not remove all the temp files even when you tell it to under Internet Options. Really deleting those would be another good topic for your blog btw.
In your "About" section you claim to like computers and technology so here is my challenge to your love of technology.
Give Linux a serious try. Ubuntu is a very user friendly flavor and setting up your PC to dual boot is extremely easy. You can even try it using the live CD so it only loads into memory and makes no changes to your HDD. (It runs a little slower this way however)
If you are a hardcore gamer the dual boot method will still give you a Windows partition for any games that have not yet been ported to Linux.
I am not claiming to be a Linux guru by any means, my conversion has been fairly recent, but after trudging the MS path since Windows 3.1 I just had to try something different.
If you decide to do this I will be more than willing to help you with tips and suggestions and the forums are filled with others who will gladly assist.
My apologies for basically hijacking your thread here but it was the only way I had at the moment to communicate with you. I have bookmarked this thread so I can follow up. Sorry I can't bring myself to subscribe at this time as Windows tips are simply of no use to me now.
Thank You Anonymous for kind instructions. I've fedora 7 installed in my computer. It can access files in NTFS partitions also. But I've a little experience with Linux so far. In our state, Government encourages people to use Linux for stopping software piracy. I'll make my best to have some more knowledge in Linux. Thank you for your helping mentality.
Great tip. Don't know why I would want to save the files from YouTube though. Seems I learned more about the Linux system from reading the comments.
